Ranchi, Jan. 14 -- Thirteen days after two toddlers disappeared from a residential pocket of Ranchi, the city woke up on Makar Sankranti to a moment of rare relief.

Ansh Kumar, five, and his four-year-old sister Anshika were found alive and unharmed in the Chitarpur area of Ramgarh district, bringing an end to an anxious, multi-state search that had gripped Jharkhand.

The siblings went missing on January 2 from the Jagarnathpur Mausi Bari area under Dhurwa police station limits. A case was registered the following day under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. What followed was one of the most extensive child recovery operations undertaken by Ranchi police in recent years.
