Kolkata, March 20 -- As a sequel to the implementation of the Supreme Court order, the Calcutta High Court has constituted 19 tribunals to oversee appeals related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal.
In a notification issued on Friday night the tribunals will cover all 23 districts of the state and aim to provide a structured mechanism for addressing voter grievances during the revision process.
"The tribunals will be headed by 19 retired judges of the High Court," the notification of the Election Commission of India read.
The election commission has appointed former Chief Justice T.S. Sivagnanam, and former judges Biswajit Basu, Ranjit Kumar Bag, Samapti Chattopadhyay, among others for the hearing o...
