Shimla, Nov. 22 -- HP Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said on Friday that the Accounts Department plays a crucial role in making the financial system transparent and public-friendly.

Through its fact-based reports and financial recommendations to departments, it serves as the foundation for public welfare and good governance.

The Governor was addressing a program organised to mark the fifth Audit Week. The programme was organised by the Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD) at the Gorton Castle Building Complex (AG Office) in Shimla. Audit Week 2025 is being organised by the Department's National Academy of Audit and Accounts, the Principal Accountant General (Audit), and the Principal Accountant General (Accounting and Monitoring).
