Solapur, Oct. 15 -- A Thane-based couple has been booked for allegedly cheating a senior citizen from Solapur district of 11 lakh under the pretext of securing a police job for his son.

The Akalkot North Police Station registered a case of fraud against Manoj Vishnu Kokne and his wife, Bharati Manoj Kokne following a detailed complaint lodged by the victim.

According to police officials, the complainant, Shrishil Kashinath Kambhar (63), a resident of Dhanda Manjuri, Kambhar Gali in Akalkot, stated that the accused assured him of facilitating the recruitment of his son Ramesh Shrishil Kambhar into the Mumbai Police force.
