Hyderabad, Feb. 24 -- In a major step towards eliminating extreme poverty, the Telangana government has decided to extend the Telangana Grameena Integrated Livelihood Programme (TGILP) to seven additional mandals, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development and Women & Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka said.

The decision was taken following an agreement signed at a programme held at the Aga Khan Foundation in Raviryal, Rangareddy district on Tuesday.

Describing the move as a significant milestone, the Minister said the expansion aims to enable Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) to achieve economic self-reliance.
