Hyderabad, Nov. 25 -- The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC), headed by Justice Shameem Akther, has taken suo motu cognizance of disturbing incidents of animal mutilation and alleged black-magic practices reported from Jangaon, Warangal and Jagtial districts.

The action follows a news report published on November 24, highlighting rituals carried out even within the premises of a government school at Tharoor Camp, causing fear among residents and psychological distress among children.

The Commission observed that such acts pose a threat to the safety, dignity and mental well-being of school-going children and reflect possible lapses in maintaining public order and campus security.
