Tension sparks in Tripura village after recovery of pork in mosque

Agartala, Aug. 18 -- Security beefed up in the bordering Tila Bazar area of Tripura's Unakoti district after tension sparked off following the recovery of an alleged packet of pork meat and a letter in a mosque on Sunday night.

DM Unakoti Dr Tamal Mujumdar said police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel quickly reached the scene soon after getting the report. The incident came to light when an Imam noticed a plastic packet containing meat. After he alerted others, locals opened the packet and found a piece of meat along with a letter inside.
