Agartala, Feb. 9 -- Tension erupted in Manikyanagar area of Kalamchoura in Tripura's Sepahijala district today after a significant confrontation arose between local cannabis growers and security forces during an anti-narcotics operation, resulting in injuries to four security personnel.
Police said a collaborative team, consisting of Tripura Police and Assam Rifles, initiated an operation aimed at eradicating illegal cannabis plantations in the region.
However, prior to reaching the targeted locations, a large assembly of local residents and cultivators obstructed the road and resisted, leading to a violent confrontation.
