Shimla, Feb. 17 -- Congress legislator from Gagret (Una) , Rakesh Kalia flagged the issue of officers not answering telephone calls on the second day of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

Kalia said that officers not only avoid answering calls from MLAs but also not returning missed calls.

According to him, even when contacted regarding public works, officers display an indifferent attitude, adversely affecting public interest.

He claimed the conduct of the officers as arbitrary and warned that if the government did not immediately rein them in, he would be compelled to stage a protest along with members of the public outside the offices of such officials.
