Hyderabad, April 27 -- Minister for Minority Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin and Professor M. Kodandaram were sworn in as members of the Telangana Legislative Council (MLCs) under the Governor's quota on Monday.
The oath of office was administered by Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy at the Council Hall.
The induction is seen as strengthening the Congress government in the State and ensuring continuity for Minister Azharuddin.
On Sunday, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla nominated Prof. Kodandaram and Azharuddin to the Legislative Council, marking the culmination of a long-awaited political appointment process under the Governor's quota.
