Hyderabad, May 18 -- In a major step toward resolving long-pending land disputes, Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday announced that the state government will initiate a comprehensive re-survey in five villages on an experimental basis, aiming to replace outdated Nizam-era maps with modern land records.

Speaking to the media here, the Minister stated that there are 413 villages across the state that either lack proper land surveys or still rely on archaic records dating back to the Nizam period.

He criticised the previous BRS government for failing to address the issue over the past decade.
