Hyderabad/Delhi, Sept. 5 -- Telangana Sports and Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari has urged union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to allocate the 8th edition of the Khelo India Games to Telangana and extend financial support for the state's sports infrastructure development.
Srihari met Mandaviya at his official residence in Delhi today.
Speaking to reporters later, he said, "We requested the union Minister to allot the upcoming Khelo India Games to Telangana, as the state is fully equipped to host the event.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already raised this issue, and today I reiterated the request.
We also sought funds for strengthening sports schools in districts such as Hakimpet, Adilabad, Karimnagar, and Wanaparthy."He...
