Hyderabad, Jan. 5 -- Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said the state government has opposed the Polavaram-Nallamala Sagar link project in all forums, asserting that it violates inter-state water sharing norms and threatens Telangana's water rights.

During an informal interaction with media persons in Assembly premises, the Minister said the government had formally written to the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB), Polavaram Project Authority, Central Water Commission (CWC), Ministry of Environment and Forests, and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, stating that the project violates the Godavari Water Disputes Tribunal (GWDT) 1980 award and established inter-state water rules....
