Hyderabad, Nov. 2 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao today said that the state government will soon bring a new Seed Act to curb the menace of fake seeds and protect the rights of farmers.

The Minister on Sunday held a review meeting with members of the Draft Committee on the Telangana Seed Draft Act-2025 at the State Secretariat to discuss the modalities and framework of the proposed legislation aimed at safeguarding farmers' interests and ensuring better regulation of the seed industry.

Emphasising that seeds form the foundation of agriculture, the Minister said the farming sector has suffered severe losses due to the circulation of spurious and substandard seeds in the market.
