Hyderabad, Sept. 2 -- Telangana Minister for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Minorities, Adluri Laxman, on Tuesday announced that the state government has sanctioned Rs 700 crore for the construction of roads in 429 tribal villages.
Speaking to the media at the Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat, the Minister said that the government's primary focus is to improve road connectivity for tribal communities, especially in areas where infrastructure has been damaged by recent floods.
He explained that funds have been sanctioned under Government Order (GO) 240 and through the ST Sub-Plan. "Roads for 236 villages under the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) have also been approved. Tenders will be called very soon," he said.
