Hyderabad, July 2 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said today that his government is planning to provide free medical care and quality education to the poor in the state.

Revanth Reddy said the government has already earmarked Rs 11,500 crore funds for the development of the medical sector and Rs 21,500 crore for education in the current financial year.

Noted doctor Nori Dattatreya has also been appointed as a cancer care consultant to the government, he said.

He said that the State government is already providing free medical treatment to the poor up to Rs 10 lakhs and there is need to take more precautions to prevent health problems.
