Hyderabad, Aug. 18 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao today reviewed the urea supply position in the state through a video conference with district collectors, SPs and agriculture officials.

He expressed concern over the widening gap between the Centre's allocation and the actual supply, which has resulted in a deficit of 2.98 lakh metric tons of urea.

The Minister pointed out that while the Centre allocated 1.7 lakh metric tons in April, 1.6 lakh in May, 1.7 lakh in June, 1.6 lakh in July and 1.7 lakh in August, the actual supplies were far lower - 1.21 lakh MT in April, 0.88 lakh in May, 0.98 lakh in June, 1.43 lakh in July and just 0.82 lakh MT in August.
