Hyderabad, April 7 -- The Telangana government has declared cancer a "notifiable disease" and made reporting of all diagnosed cases mandatory across the state, according to a Government Order issued by the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department.

As per G.O issued on Monday, all hospitals - government and private-along with clinics, laboratories and other healthcare institutions must report cancer cases within one month of diagnosis or registration.

The order aims to establish a robust surveillance system to capture accurate data on cancer incidence, prevalence and mortality, enabling better planning of diagnosis, treatment and preventive strategies.
