Hyderabad/Siddipet, March 22 -- Declaring that "neither agriculture where the ox weeps nor a kingdom where the farmer weeps can ever truly prosper," Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday reiterated his government's commitment to farmers' welfare while releasing Rs 3,600 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme at Narmetta in Siddipet district.

Addressing the "Rythu Utsavalu" programme, the Chief Minister said Rs 9,000 crore would be deposited into farmers' accounts in three instalments within 45 days, ensuring there are no shortcomings in supporting farmers.

He noted that over Rs 1 lakh crore has been spent on agriculture in the past two years and said Telangana has emerged as the leading state in paddy production.
