Raigad, Oct. 30 -- A forty-three-year-old woman died this morning after a large rock fell on the car in which she was travelling in Maharashtra's Raigad district, police said.
The sudden rockfall near Kondethar village in the Tamhini Ghat area of Mangaon tehsil also severely damaged the vehicle.
Police Inspector Nivrutti Borhad, who is leading the investigation, identified the deceased as Snehal Govinddas Gujarati, who was travelling with her husband Govinddas towards Goregaon in Mangaon when the incident occurred.
As their car approached Kondethar village, a sizeable boulder detached from the hillside and struck the vehicle. The impact caused serious head injuries to Snehal, leading to immediate loss of consciousness.
