Colombo, Feb. 14 -- Explosive batting by captain Lorcan Tucker (94 not out), Gareth Delany (56) and George Dockrell (35 not out) followed by a strong bowling performance helped Ireland beat Oman by 96 runs in the 22nd match of the T20 World Cup on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 236, Oman's batsmen were mostly helpless against the Irish bowling attack, and their team was bundled out for 139 in 18 overs. Aamir Kaleem top-scored for Oman with 50.
Kaleem's innings included five fours and two sixes.
Hammad Mirza smashed 46 runs off 37 balls, hitting six fours and a six. Sufyan Mahmood was dismissed for 10 while the remaining eight batsmen failed to reach double figures.
