Moscow/Damascus, Oct. 15 -- Meeting with his Russian counterpart President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Syrian interim President Ahmed-al Sharaa said that he seeks to rebuild Damascus' bilateral ties with Moscow, noting their importance in maintaining regional security in a highly volatile Middle East.

"We will try to reset our relationship and introduce you, among other things, to the new Syria. The most important thing now, of course, is stability - stability both in the country and in the region as a whole," al-Sharaa said, according to Russian media.
