Aizawl, Jan. 26 -- Marking a breakthrough in the prolonged political deadlock in southern Mizoram, C. Hrangthianga was today sworn in as Protem Chairman of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), one of the three autonomous district councils in the state, at a ceremony held in Lawngtlai district.
The oath-taking ceremony, held at 12:30 pm in the Chairman's Room of the LADC Secretariat, formally set in motion the process for constitution of a new executive committee in the 25-member council, nearly two months after the district council elections produced a fractured verdict.
