Dubai, Feb. 21 -- Elina Svitolina defeated Coco Gauff in a hard-fought three-set semifinal to enter the women's singles final of the Dubai Tennis Championships in Dubai.
Svitolina prevailed 6-4, 6-7 (13), 6-4 in a match lasting three hours and three minutes, overcoming a stiff challenge from the American and missing multiple match points along the way, as per the WTA Tennis website.
Despite losing a marathon second-set tie-break 15-13, the Ukrainian held her nerve in the deciding set to seal victory and reach her third final in Dubai and first since 2018.
