Wellington, Dec. 22 -- White Ferns opener Suzie Bates will miss the rest of New Zealand's domestic home season and the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe after sustaining an injury last month.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, Bates sustained the injury while fielding in a Hallyburton Johnstone Shield match, with scans later confirming the extent of the tear. Medical advice has suggested a rehabilitation period of around three months, ruling her out of Otago's remaining domestic fixtures, including the Super Smash.

The setback also means the experienced opener will miss New Zealand's home ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe, scheduled to begin in Hamilton on February 25.
