Kolkata, May 7 -- Suvendu Adhikari alleged that his close aide Chandranath Rath was "cold-bloodedly murdered" in a planned attack after being kept under surveillance for several days.

Adhikari made the remarks outside a hospital in Madhyamgram while accompanied by union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Wednesday night.

"I don't want to make any comments right now but I believe that there might be some political reasons behind the murder. Police are doing their investigation and I have confidence in them," Adhikari told the media late Wednesday night.

"I have spoken to West Bengal Director General of Police Siddhanath Gupta and some important clues had emerged after examining CCTV footage. We hope that the murderers will be arrested soon," he...
