Srinagar, Feb. 20 -- A suspicious improvised explosive device (IED) was detected and safely defused by security forces in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said on Friday.
The device was spotted during a night patrol by Army personnel at Janbazpora along the Baramulla-Handwara highway. The area was immediately cordoned off, and senior officers from the security forces rushed to the site.
A bomb disposal squad was subsequently called in and successfully neutralised the suspected IED without causing any damage, officials added.
