Bahraich (UP), Feb. 8 -- Fear gripped Bela Makan village under Nanpara range on Saturday night after a suspected leopard attacked an 8-year-old boy, leaving him critically injured.
The child, Umesh, son of Ramesh, was returning home around 8:30 pm when a wild animal pounced on him and attempted to drag him away, officials said on Sunday. Hearing his screams, villagers rushed to the spot with sticks and torches, forcing the animal to flee towards the forest.
The injured boy was rushed to Behra Community Health Centre and later referred to a medical college due to his serious condition. His condition remains critical.
