Agartala, Dec. 22 -- Traffic ground to a halt late Sunday night on the Assam-Agartala National Highway as the Tripura Guerrilla Returned Demand Committee, a group of surrendered insurgents, staged a blockade at Baramura hill range in West Tripura.
The group outlined three primary demands, chief among them was the immediate revival of a long-stalled rehabilitation scheme worth Rs 23 crore.
According to a spokesperson for the group, which consists of pre-1998 insurgent returnees who reintegrated into society following negotiations with the Left Front government, their situation remains unresolved.
