Bhopal, Feb. 4 -- Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate on Wednesday alleged that the deaths of 32 people due to contaminated drinking water in Indore were "state-sponsored murders".

Interacting with media persons at the Indore Press Club, Shrinate claimed that at least 32 people have died so far due to contaminated drinking water of the Narmada river supplied through households taps by the Indore Municipal Corporation in the Bhagirathpura area of Indore.

She demanded the removal of MP Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, registration of a murder case against Indore's BJP Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, and compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of all the deceased.
