Shimla, Dec. 31 -- Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday accused the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government of continuing what he described as its "Himachal on Sale" policy, alleging that the state government is repeatedly attempting to transfer valuable public land to private interests under the pretext of development.

In a statement issued from Shimla, Thakur said the government has approved a proposal to develop a modern township over 3,485 bighas of land in Shitalpur, which he claimed is aimed at benefitting a select group of favoured businessmen.
