Zagreb, Feb. 5 -- Indian men's freestyle wrestlers made a strong start at the Zagreb Open 2026 in Croatia, clinching three medals on the opening day of competition on Wednesday, led by a dominant gold-medal performance from Sujeet Kalkal in the 65kg weight category.
The 23-year-old U23 world champion was in imperious form throughout the tournament, completing his campaign without conceding a single point. Sujeet sealed the gold with a composed 3-0 victory over Iran's Peyman Ali Nemati in the final, as per Olympics.com.
Earlier, he powered past France's Khamzat Arsamerzouev by technical superiority in the quarter-finals before dismantling two-time Pan American champion Joseph McKenna of the USA 11-0 in the semi-finals.
