Khartoum, May 31 -- The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced on Friday that it has received over 2.9 million doses of the cholera vaccine amid a surge in cases, especially in the capital Khartoum.
"A total of 2,905,400 cholera vaccine doses have been received as part of efforts to combat the cholera outbreak currently affecting Sudan, particularly in Khartoum State," the ministry said in a statement.
It noted that the vaccines were donated by the International Coordinating Group (ICG) on Vaccine Provision, with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
