Shillong, Oct. 16 -- A division of the Meghalaya High Court has ordered the State government to submit within three weeks details regarding steps taken to deal with drug addiction in the State.
In an order passed yesterday, the bench comprising Chief Justice Soumen Sen and Justice Wanlura Diengdoh asked the State government to file an affidavit about the measures for deaddiction and setting up of rehabilitation centres for drug addicts.
The court also directed the union government to file a detailed affidavit with regard to the steps taken by them to prevent entry of narcotic drugs in Meghalaya through the international borders.
