Nagpur, Feb. 18 -- A sub-adult tiger was killed after being struck by the Kerala Express near Nagpur, forest officials said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night on a railway track passing through the Sukli (Gharpure) beat in the Butibori West forest range under the Butibori forest division, a few kilometres from Nagpur city.
The tiger, estimated to be around one-and-a-half years old, was found dead near Jamtha, close to the Vidarbha Cricket Association premises, near the Brahma Kumaris Ashram.
According to officials, the loco pilot of train number 12625 alerted railway authorities after the collision.
The information was subsequently conveyed to the Butibori forest department.
