Kannur, Aug. 13 -- Kannur District Collector T V Subash on Tuesday announced that school and college students in the district will not participate in the 73rd Independence Day parade in the wake of heavy downpour and flooding.
Due to rain, holiday was declared for educational institutions in the District from August 9 and cadets of NCC, Scouts and Guides, Red Cross and Student Police Cadet programme did not get the opportunity to participate in Independence Day parade rehearsal.
Parade rehearsal was conducted on Tuesday at the water logged Police parade ground without the participation of students.
