Gorakhpur, Sept. 30 -- A Class 11 student, Akash Nishad (19), was reportedly beaten to death by a mob last night following a minor motorcycle collision near Sahjanwa, police said today.
The incident occurred around 10 pm on Cinema Road near Sahjanwa as Akash and three younger friends-Nikki (12), Vishal (15), and Ranjit (15)-were returning from a Durga Puja event.
Akash's bike reportedly collided with another two-wheeler, drawing a large crowd. Instead of providing assistance, the mob allegedly surrounded and severely assaulted Akash and his friends.
Passersby alerted the police, and all four injured individuals were rushed to BRD Medical College. Doctors declared Akash dead upon arrival.
