New Delhi, Nov. 20 -- India's merchandise exports fell 11.8 percent on-year which is the steepest since August 2024, said a report released by CRISIL on Wednesday.
It followed a 50pc increase in US tariffs effective from Aug 27, a move which has subdued exports for the second month in a row.
Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited (CRISIL) said that on-year decline in exports was broad-based across petroleum products, gems, jewellery and core sectors.
"Petroleum products exports declined 10.4pc year-on-year in October, compared with a growth of 15.1pc in September. Similarly, core exports fell 10.2pc compared with 6.1pc growth in September. The gems and jewellery sector was hit the hardest, while exports plummeting 29.5pc yea...
