Agra, Aug. 24 -- In a major crackdown on counterfeit pharmaceuticals, the Special Task Force (STF) and the Drug Department have exposed a massive fake drug racket operating out of Agra.
During the operation, authorities arrested Himanshu Agarwal, the owner of Hema Medico, after he was allegedly caught red-handed attempting to bribe officials with Rs 1 crore to halt a 24-hour raid.
According to officials, the joint operation began on Friday and led to the seizure of over Rs 2.5 crore worth of suspected counterfeit medicines from Hema Medico's shop and warehouse.
