Chennai, Dec. 2 -- Practically remaining stationary near Chennai, the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, remnant of the cyclone Ditwah, is expected to lash Chennai and three other districts of North Tamil Nadu with a heavy spell.
Despite weakening into a well-marked low pressure by Tuesday night, the system has maintained its intensity throughout the day. The deep depression which was expected to move towards south Andhra Pradesh coast, was caught between two anti-cyclonic circulations and became oscillating under the pull and push of winds, making it practically stationary, according to B Amudha, director, Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai.
