Dumka, Jan. 30 -- The renowned state-level tribal Hijla Fair of Jharkhand will be organised in Dumka from February 13 to 20, official sources said on Friday.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Fair Organising Committee Chairman Abhijit Sinha.

Earlier scheduled from February 20 to 27, the dates were revised in view of the Municipal Council elections, with polling set for February 23.

The historic fair, held since 1890 on the slopes of Hijla Hill along the banks of the Mayurakshi River, is a major cultural event of the region.
