Kolkata, May 4 -- With the BJP set for landslide victory in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections on Monday, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Samik Bhattacharya issued a cautious yet confident note, appealing to party workers to maintain peace and restraint.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP's state headquarters in Salt Lake, Bhattacharya emphasised that victory celebrations, if warranted, must remain disciplined and not inconvenience the public or disrupt law and order. "No one should get carried away in the event of a favourable outcome. The joy of victory must not come at the cost of public peace," he said.
