Gorakhpur, Sept. 16 -- Tensions that erupted in Mahua Chhafi village under the Pipraich police station area have largely subsided following the tragic death of 19-year-old student Deepak Gupta during an early morning altercation with suspected cattle smugglers.
Authorities have successfully restored peace in the area through the prompt deployment of police forces and continuous patrolling.
Speaking on the matter, Gorakhpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raj Karan Nayyar clarified that Deepak Gupta did not die from a gunshot, as initially speculated.
