Chennai, Feb. 20 -- The Southern Railway on Friday sought the cooperation of the passengers as redevelopment works at Chennai Egmore Station aimed at improving passenger amenities and infrastructure began today due to which temporary changes have been made to the schedule of suburban EMU train services.
Effective from today about 44 EMU trains were cancelled on the Chennai Beach - Chengalpattu section and it would be in force till April five.
During this period, suburban train services normally operated from Platform Nos. 10 and 11 will be operated from Platform Nos. 05 and 06 (regular reception and dispatch platforms for Express trains) at Chennai Egmore Railway Station with revised timings.
