Varanasi, Feb. 26 -- The Municipal Corporation is continuously working towards the development of Varanasi.
In a significant meeting of the executive committee on Wednesday evening, a budget of Rs 2533.33 crore for the financial year 2026-27 was approved to accelerate the city's development. This includes Rs 2262.42 crore for the Municipal Corporation and Rs 270.91 crore for the Jalkal Department.
For the first time, the budget has allocated special funds for Padma awardees and slums.
