Hyderabad, Dec. 29 -- In a bid to prevent drug abuse and ensure peaceful New Year celebrations, the Hyderabad City Police has constituted special cluster teams to conduct surprise checks across the city.

Acting on the instructions of the Commissioner of Police, the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), in coordination with Law and Order Police, City Armed Reserve (CAR) personnel from headquarters, and the Narcotic Dog Squad, formed 10 special cluster teams. These teams carried out surprise inspections at pubs, clubs, bars, and restaurants across Hyderabad as part of a New Year special drive.
