Raebareli, Aug. 6 -- Swami Prasad Maurya, the National President of the Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party, was attacked today during a stopover in Raebareli while en route to Fatehpur.
The incident occurred in the Mil Area police station limits at Saras Chauraha.
According to eyewitnesses, a youth initially approached Maurya and garlanded him, pretending to be a supporter. Moments later, he struck Maurya on the back of his head and attempted to flee.
Maurya cried out in shock, prompting his supporters to react quickly and chase down the attacker.
The youth was caught and beaten by the workers before being rescued by security personnel. Another individual accompanying the attacker was also reportedly assaulted by the crowd. Police interven...
