Amaravati, May 13 -- The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into parts of the south Bay of Bengal, the south Andaman Sea, the Nicobar Islands, and parts of the north Andaman Sea as on Tuesday, according to the Meteorological Centre.

The Centre stated that conditions are favourable for further advancement of the monsoon into additional areas over the south Arabian Sea, Maldives and Comorin region, more parts of the south Bay of Bengal, the entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the remaining parts of the Andaman Sea, and parts of the central Bay of Bengal during the next three to four days.
