Shillong, Oct. 8 -- Justice Soumen Sen sworn in as the 14th Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court on Wednesday.

Meghalaya Governor Chandrashekhar H. Vijayashankar administered the oath of office to the new Chief Justice at the Raj Bhavan here.

Justice Hamarsan Sing Thangkhiew had been functioning as acting Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court after Chief Justice Indra Prasanna Mukerji retired from the position on September 5, 2025, upon reaching the age of superannuation.
