New Delhi, Jan. 20 -- The Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will be launching initiatives to enhance and develop inland water transport across various states on January 23, which will take place in a meeting of the Inland Waterways Development Council (IWDC).
IWDC's third meeting will be held on January 23, in Kochi, Kerala, aimed at highlighting achievements of the Inland Water Transport (IWT) sector, and giving out the blueprint for its future vision.
The meeting is expected to witness signing of several State Support Agreements that are aimed towards strengthening collaboration between the Centre and the state governments towards the inland water projects.
